Carlos CRUZ DIEZ fut l’une des figures majeures de l’art cinétique. Sa proposition plastique le situe comme l’un des derniers théoriciens de la couleur. Son investigation, fondée sur trois conditions chromatiques : couleur soustractive, additive et reflet, a contribué à une nouvelle approche du phénomène de la couleur en élargissant notamment son univers perceptif. Carlos Cruz-Diez a fondé sa proposition sur la couleur conçue comme une réalité autonome, dépourvue d’anecdotes, évoluant dans le temps et l’espace réels sans aucune aide de la forme ni même d’un support. Huit axes de recherches révèlent les différents comportements de la couleur : Couleur Additive, Physichromie, Induction Chromatique, Chromointerférence, Transchromie, Chromosaturation, Chromoscope et Couleur dans l’espace.

Carlos CRUZ DIEZ was one of the major figures of kinetic art. His plastic approach makes him one of the last theorists of colour. His research, based on three chromatic conditions: subtractive, additive and reflective colour, has contributed to a new approach to the phenomenon of colour by extending its perceptual universe. Carlos Cruz-Diez has based his approach on colour as an independent reality, devoid of anecdotes, evolving in time and space without the need for shape or even of a support. Eight axes of research reveal the different behaviours of colour: Additive Colour, Physichromy, Chromatic Induction, Chromointerference, Transchromy, Chromosaturation, Chromoscope and Colour in Space.
